Here's another screwed up fact I've heard from several people: men who are taken tend to be more attractive to women than single ones. I recall reading somewhere that a good way to attract women in clubs is to go with a hot chick. The logic is that women when they look at a man with a hot woman on his arm will think "he must have something special to be with that woman". And there's also the thrill of the forbidden: a man who's harder to get is more attractive than the alternative.
So if you want a woman, you must have a woman. :sly:

Completely true, in my experience. One university (I believe it was U. Penn, but my memory is a bit hazy) did a survey where they took pictures of a group of guys, and showed them to two different groups of women. Both groups were told that different guys were single vs. married, and the women consistently found the same guys more attractive if they were told he was married as opposed to single.
Its what the internet pickup crowd calls "preselection". People tend to think like sheep, so if everybody else likes something we want to like it too. I've even seen it proven. The first time I went out to a club, my buddy at one point told me to take his fiance'(who holds part time jobs as a model and gogo dancer) into the next group I talked to. The group blew wide open to my advances with no resistance whatsoever.
