I think that depends on if you're an ex LGer or not :sly:

Mystery Dev, it's great to have another member of the Thief team in our midst, and thank you for the wonderful gift. :)
Drop by the Dark Mod forums someting, it would be interesting to get your opinion on what we have done so far.

would anybody be able to up a complete version? the only missing track i can think of off the top of my head right now would be the ambient noise in garrett's apartment, but i am sure there are others.

The person who originally posted these files ASKED to further distribute them:
I will say you cannot suspend my account without researching the situation FIRST. Re-enable my account I will remove the file MYSELF and I will spare you further embarrassment.
Think that'll get the point across? :ebil:
Hm. If they research the situation I think it'll be quite clear that the person did not have a permission to distribute the files in the first place and was, in fact, afraid of legal consequences. :/
With that said, tho... *click* :thumb:

If I ever won the Lottery, I would contact the MysteryDev, and tell him to get him and his Team back to toghter, pay them a good share of my Winnings, say I win 40Million, I'll give them 10Million, And tell them to make me a New Thief game. Because, I love Thief, it is the best game series around, And I almost cried when I heard about Ion Storm closing, and the fact that Eidos doesn't give two shits about Thief that we know of. R.I.P Ion Storm, untill I win the Lottery, :thumb: I also heard that they were going to make a new Thief, but more Modern pah *Spits on that idea*
Now please Excuse me, while I go and beat Thief 3 Again. :D
P.S. sorry for bumpping a thread that hasn't been posted on in like a Week.

Yep, we were going to make a modern version of Thief (let's be frank, the Thief series has done nothing but please the hardcore fans while losing millions upon millions of dollars for Eidos).
Nothing against the Thief series, but after 3 titles we figured there had been enough of the medieval stuff. If you really loved that stuff (and let's face it, who in their right mind doesn't?) you can always go back and replay them (which is all that's left to us now).
Do you really want Thief 4? Don't answer that, I know the answer is yes. :-)
But we didn't want to make the same game again.
We were going to make a badass new version where it's modern day (but still dark and stylish, like Blade or Blade Runner) and yet has a strong supernatural element (we had plans for an alternate dimension called the Wraith World).
Our goal was to take Garrett into the modern day (yes, it was still a guy named Garrett with a dark, wry, dry sense of humor in a place called, simply, The City) and make it a little more of a stealth action game while still being true to what makes Thief so great (the cynical cutscenes, the anti-hero vibe, the gray morality, the uber-rich villains, etc.).
If memory serves, the first mission was going to be an assault on Senator Bafford's mansion. Yeah, we were going to tip our hats all the freaking time to the hardcore.
Hell, I'll even post a piece of concept art we had for what Garrett might look like. Bear in mind that we didn't even make it out of pre-pro, so don't take this as his final look, but it kinda shows where we were going.
Good God this is so illegal (we paid an external concept artist for this), but what the hell: (

Notice how we kept the hooded, guarded look and still kept him looking all gruff and loner-ish.
God, that game was going to be badass. Alas, Eidos killed the game.
Boo.

Thanks for the music Warren/Randy/Denise/Kristine/Eric/Terri/Laura/Lulu or whoever else you may be...
May your presence haunt Eidos where ever you go...

Well... I'm sad this game won't be made. But maybe the idea will be picked up by another company, as T3 was picked up by Ion Storm?
What do you think, MysteryDev?
New Horizon on 17/3/2006 at 17:29
Hmmm, MysteryDev is reminding me an awful lot of Faceless from my days as a Moderator on the old Ion Storm forums. I'm probably wrong, if someone were to say...PM me whether I am right or wrong, I wouldn't release their true identity. ;) It would just be a confirmation of my suspicions.
Well, whoever he is. He has left us with some great gifts. :) Any plans to join the community in our Fan Mission efforts?
If only someone had snagged the Thief 3 source code, in true Garrett fashion. That would make for some VERY happy Thief fans.
There may be one way to figure out who this is...
A RAP OFF!!!! The boards were shut down over at Ion before Faceless and I could properly finish our last tournament.
Begin:
Yo' looks like da' man wit'out a face,
