World at War was surprisingly good, yeah. Cautiously optimistic.
I just hope they learn what a cumulative patch is- I do not want to download 3gb of patches again. Next time I'll just buy the goddamn game on Steam.

Treyarch confirms Dedicated Servers for Black Ops:
Quote:
Call of Duty: Black Ops will be getting dedicated servers, according to studio head Mark Lamia.
When asked whether the popular feature would be present in Black Ops in the new issue of PC Zone, Lamia replied,
"I think dedicated servers are excellent. I don't see any reason not to see them unless... well, I just don't see any reason not to.""It seems people like them and we're excited about what we're doing right now."Lamia showed his appreciation of how much dedicated servers meant to a lot of PC gamers:
"We do work very hard to reconcile the desire to manipulate and modify those dedicated servers with offering them the persistent experience and benefits that the console system provides."
"We're working very hard to marry those two things, so people can run dedicated servers and also participate in the communal experience the console players get to have, given they're all on first-party servers." (

(
http://tinyurl.com/2cbtyvq) G4TV seems to reckon that they're only working on map packs for Treyarch's Black Ops, rather than a fully blown release.
Either way it's still all unconfirmed rumours at this point and should be taken with a grain of salt.

I <3 Raven, thus I think this is the greatest idea ever.

*sigh*
Here we go again with this "teaser for a teaser" bullshit.

I like Raven too (I thought
Wolfenstien, despite a bland story and a superfluous hub and upgrade system, was one of the best FPS I've played in a long time) but this sounds like Activision hasn't been happy with the studio's financial output lately and is moving them onto the money printing machine, and to add insult to injury they're only doing map packs. That and the fact that
Singularity is seemingly getting no media push whatsoever (it's out in June right?) makes me a little worried for the studio's future as an old-school FPS developer.
Also I really wish the writing and story in Raven's games would match the self-aware, old-school glee of the gameplay. Stick with the B-movie plotting but stop taking it seriously and ham it up!

Agreed on all points. And Wolfenstein is fucking ace.

Reveal trailer. It looks okay, I'm reserving my judgement until I've actually played the game naturally.
