Oh for fuck's sake.

I can accept the $5 price hike. I can even tolerate Securom to an extent. But those taken together, along with ditching Steam for D2D exclusivity, is just a little too much to bear.
I'm gonna let this one pass me by. :(
Edit: Shouldn't have watched the launch trailer. Damn it.

Well Renz, there may yet be hope if you're willing to accept Securom and $5, as it's not D2D exclusive. Gamersgate has it, as does Capcom's direct store.

I picked this up on 360, and I'm quite glad I did now having read that link.
It looks like before the deal fell through, Capcom intended to include SecuROM even on the Steam release, and subsequently, it looks like there isn't a version of the game you can buy without SecuROM.
I really want to see one of these idiot publishers justify the need for SecuROM in a Steam title. When releasing on Steam, Steam itself should be the only copy protection you need.

What version of SecuROM is it, the usual CD check or the online activation one?

Take2 really takes the cake there for their initial release of Bioshock on Steam.

Online activation / limited activations as far as I can tell, and looks like yer limited to 3.

I'll probably go ahead and grab it at the Capcom store. But I want to know one thing before I make the plunge and face the DRM...
How is it?

Retards. Damn it, I wanted to buy this, but I'm going to pass, at least until the situation changes.

Jesus God the bioniccommando.com forums are a river of flame with people complaining about the PC version- DRM issues, bugs, et cetera.
I think I'm just going to pass on this one. It's Bioshock all over again. So glad I didn't buy this.

Hell, bugs too? I'll get it when I get a PS3. Or better yet, I'm gonna hook up my NES.
