OK, this sucks. (Audio Issue) - by Beauty-Man

I have been playing Thief for 19 years, and have never once had an issue with anything besides perhaps when the DDFIX patch rolled around. There's rarely a tech issue I can't figure out myself, but this has me stumped. It happened two weeks ago, and I'm just now mustering up the patience to deal with it. One night after growing tired of the Rebellion of the Builder (when everything was working), I went to load another FM via the FM Selector. I go in game and I notice the menu's are all messed up (this had been happening quite a lot actually. Text in the wrong fields, text on the edges of the screen, etc) and walla no sound! I thought perhaps one of my many audio interfaces were glitching again, but nope, audio from my desktop played fine. I said the hell with it and go to cue up Shadows of Doubt for the 800th time. To my surprise, Thief Gold has no sound either! I went through a chain of events and come up with no solution. Not to be a pessimist, but I'm not sure this can be helped, but I wanted to post it here anyway in case someone else had suggestions I haven't already went through. I want to mention that I installed NewDark 1.25 to play Raven Creek, and didn't see an issue at that time
Things I've done (to no avail)
Uninstalled NewDark 1.25
Installed NewDark 1.19
Checked hardware acceleration
Checked mixer settings on desktop
Checked audio interfaces
Disabled other audio outputs
Checked other newer games (audio works fine there)
Uninstalled Thief 2 / Thief Gold
Re-installed Thief 2 / Thief Gold (via GOG.com since I lost my physical copies)
Re-Installed on a different hard disk
System Specs (unsure if these matter)
Intel I7 6700K
16GB memory
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
ASUS Z170-AR
Windows 7
I was looking forward to playing the new Lost Place contest missions, and here I am faced with something very odd. What peeves me is when things work for forever, and then suddenly don't work any more literally out of nowhere. I went from playing a mission one moment, to it being completely broken in a matter of a few minutes. If you have suggestions, please list them, and most importantly, thank you much!

Edit: Whoa wait. I just disabled my other interface and enabled the other as the default device, and now it works! Now to figure out why the other interface dislikes Thief suddenly :tsktsk: I also feel dumb over the fact that this seems to have been the fix.
Edit 2: Geez. I just figured out everything right here. Apparently having a sample rate of 48k doesn't sit well with Thief. Perhaps I changed it back in that span of time, and didn't remember that I did nor think it was going to be an issue  *le'sigh* thanks for the help.
