Ok to copy some files from one thief to another?

Hi, Is it ok to copy the convict.osm and gen.osm from one Thief game to a different thief game?
When I click to play t2x it says convict.osm is missing, but the game still plays with no problems

The convict.osm file is not compatible between T1/G and T2/T2X, but copying it from an existing T2 install folder to your T2X install folder should be OK. But if it already plays OK, you probably don't need to as without it lots of things wouldn't work.
