I am finally getting around to checking out some of the Thief 3 FMs and I chose The Cabal part 1 to start off with.
BUT, after reading the letter at the beginning and then taking the light and the arrows that were left there for me I check my gear after I get outside and - NADA!
WTF? Is there some pickpocket out there even better and faster than me????? :grr:
Also not too pleased that there are no fewer than 5 (FIVE) cops  down there on the street in that tiny little first area of South Quarter and they just will NOT go off of alert status!
(should I have gone out da other way?) :p

That's what i like to see.....someone choosing one of the toughest T3 missions to start their careers, nothing like diving in at the deep end :thumb:
ps if i remember correctly you need to sneak under the balcony and into the tavern....where you'll find even more easily alerted enemies :laff:
You may want to start T3 with a more managable mission....'All The worlds a Stage' is excellent

That release thread helped a lot! It let this taffer know that he hadn't had HIS weapons 'n' stuff nabbed after all! ;)
(imagine the :o - the
one true keeper being pickpocketed! :tsktsk:)
But that video was painful to watch! Lord I hope the guy who made it never ever
EVER does a game voice over! OY!
(at least it let me know that what sure looks like just an atmosphere door is actually a real door that I can interact with!) :sly:
Oh, about my post title - I tend to title them according to how I feel at the time! :wot:
and Fortuni - I am not exactly a thief/keeper acolyte here! LOL!! [some of the older ttlg members may remember a certain
original Garrett's Shadow!
I have played TDP at least 5/6 times, TTMA at least 3/4 times, and TDS 2 times now! (and never on the easier settings!) Also played about 80 to 90% of all the T2 FMs!
So I am used to the deep end of the pool! But remember - I (as Garrett) seem to have forgotten (too much loot spent at the pub perhaps? :p) HOW TO SWIM! :cheeky:
Actually, I chose The Cabal because I tend to prefer campaigns over single missions!
( never much liked short stories! ;) )

Heh! Fen Phoenix's style is pretty polarizing, as rather than remaining focused upon what he's playing, he goes on a lot of tangents that are remotely related to the game or fan mission being played. He does transition smoothly between these tangents though, he has a very energetic voice, and he sounds like a pretty straightforward and genuine person in his videos. But not everyone is going to like them, I know that I found them irritating at first.

Welcome back, GS!! I knew it was you without even reading a single word of your post. All it took was seeing how your post looked. No one else writes posts like that. :laff:

You're going to regret saying that. :tsktsk: While some people don't like the way Fen does his video LPs (though I think most people love it, including me), you are going to be amazed the first time you hear him do voice acting in a mission. He is brilliant at it!

I am so very happy happy HAPPY to see that TTLG is still goin strong! Still kikin arse and chewin gum - even if it prolly is (ugh) - sugar free! :p :cheeky:
And thank you so much for the welcome back! I missed all youse guyz! I wuz witout a taffin pc for an extended time but regrettably a death in the family bequeathed (sp?) a small sum of loot to me so I went right out and got me a laptop - nice one but still not as powerful as a desktop tower!
Then I went a bit loony (not Shalebridge Cradle admittance level though? ) and bought about
30 games from a Software Boutique closeout sale and a couple of Humble Bundle digital download sales! One was a bundle of all 4 Deus Ex games and one was the Thief Collection!
(T1 Gold,T2,T3, and the ahem "reboot" (boo, hiss), of T1)
Havta play em all via Steam tho of course - guess Steam automatically takes care of that niggling dual/quad core problem on T1 & 2!
I am also glad to see that there are quite a few T3 FMs! So freakin awesome that there is still so much interest in the franchise that talented peeps have kept makin FMs!!! :thumb: :D:D:D
Also found out bout the incredible development on TDM! Stand-alone!!! WHOOPEE WOWZER WON-DER-FUL!!! (recently DL'd it - only took about one hour! LOL!! - worth it at 6 times that duration!)

Oops, I also meant to say:
Oh, you mean no one else writes posts as if they should be taking the "short bus"??? :wot: :cheeky:
And - OK, I am willing to stand corrected about Fen Phoenix - he prob does sound great when he's being serious. He was prob just having way too much fun making that vid! :thumb:
oh - I took care of that little cop overpopulation problem that South Quarter was having in part 1 of The Cabal! Seems a couple of gas bombs work wonders! At least I
think they were gas bombs!? Hmm, better recheck my inventory then the seat of my thieving pants!
(if those hadn't have worked I was then gonna see about borrowing a handful of the donuts from a few of the T2 FM's!) :laff:

Yeah, you've got a lot of catching up to do. You'll have a lot of fun doing it, though.

Well, one Deus Ex game, one sort-of Deus ex game and two imposters. :cheeky:
