Why is that GoT pic too much?
It's too well made.

Argentina lucks out thanks to a gate-post yet again. The team getting lucky since 1/8th finale just keeps on lucking out.
That german screwup with the mispass to the argentinian player where he became 1 vs 1 with Neuer was a bit wtf kind of funny.
Looks like it may end with penalties yet again or a 1:0 (probably favoring Argentina knowing either side's luck). I wonder who would win penalties though - Argentina's OP luck stat or Neuer the world's best goalkeeper. Hmm.

Reading back over this thread, I guess I was the only one laughing my tits off every time Germany scored against Brazil?
I wouldn't call the scoreline a huge shock either. Although the margin of victory was surprising, Germany trouncing Brazil was always on the cards (I used the word "annihilate" pre-match, but "trounce" is such a lovely English word). Brazil were missing their two best players, and even with them in the side they hadn't looked that good.
Anyway, I really loathed this ugly, cynical Brazil side, and was delighted to see it humiliated on the international stage. The fact it contained such vile personages as Luiz, Ramires, Neymar and Oscar. They way it kicked Colombia, and particularly James (the tournament's best player) all over the park in the quarter final. The fact that you could make a better starting XI from the players that the hapless Scolari left out of the squad.
It's so rare to see justice served up on the football pitch in such a brutal fashion, and hopefully this is the start of a trend for football pigeons coming home to roost.
So far as the final was concerned, I was obviously rooting for Germany over the damned Argies, albeit with mixed feelings - Germany were my pre-tournament pick, but I didn't stick any money on!
Messi looked pig sick when he was awarded the Golden Ball; he must have known he wasn't even Argentina's best player, let alone the best player at the tournament.
I did hear that Argentina felt they should be awarded the World Cup, because the tournament was in Brazil, and they're geographically closer to Brazil than Germany are :laff:
(Just a little Falklands-based humour there for my fellow Brits)

:D
I didn't actually watch the final. I'm afraid I got bored somewhere along the line, mainly because Tomi failed to deliver his usual discriminating team analysis.
But I'm glad Germany won.

Couldn't help but feel sorry for Messi, though. He looked so unhappy by the end of it.

Russia 2018 should be very interesting.
