if they didn't do anything to the games (patches, widescreen support) I don't see any reason to get them again. have most of them in old retail boxes or as "collection packs" from the bargain bin. this is so .... underwhelming.....how can LA think that this is a "special" announcement.
About bloody time, I say
Yeah, but this is just the start. I'm sure we'll see all the LA games on Steam.

Is it bad that I have The Dig on CD and have never even looked at it?

It's the worst thing you could possibly imagine, Fett. A crime against humanity, and a sin of the highest order. I mean comeon. You've had it all this time, but haven't even made attempt one to play it? What the hell, man? What. The. Hell.
I already know that Loom hasn't aged nearly as well as the other Lucasarts adventures. I played it about 4 years ago with the VGA/Talkie patch grabbed off The Underdogs. While a great trip down nostalgia avenue, it was too short and simple to really hold up to the test of time. It's still a good game, if only for the style and story.
On the other hand we've got The Dig, which has aged exceptionally well. The 320x240 resolution kinda sucks, but the art, acting, and overall quality of this awesome little game holds up well even today. Anyone who hasn't played it yet damn well better fucking should.
Then get Full Throttle.

Reminds me of people who bought Half-Life but have never actually played it- they only installed it for Counter-Strike.

Never ever played
The Dig or
Atlantis so that's exciting.
Play Atlantis, it's excellent. I might get it as well, I only played the floppy version and never the CD version with speech.
Remember, for people who want to play Atlantis:
the middle part of the game can be played in three different ways. After about a third of the game Sophia says something to you, then depending on how you answer you get a completely different middle section of the game. The end section is always the same however. IIRC she says something like "I'm leaving now" and you can answer either "I'd rather do this with you" (then you get to do the middle part with Sophia", or "I'd rather fight my way through" (then you get a middle part with more combat) or "I'd rather use my brains" (then you get a middle part with more puzzles). So when you get to that question, you might want to do a separate save, so you can, if you want to, start over from that point to do a different middle section.
I also have The Dig on CD, but I didn't like the puzzles much so I never finished it. I think I might play the game again with a walkthrough by hand so I can at least experience the story.

I'm in the same position, actually. Got it as part of a Lucasarts CD bundle a few years ago along with Full Throttle and Sam and Max. I remember playing the "The Dig" demo when it first came out and it just didn't impress me at all.
This thread is making me reconsider my first impressions and I think I'll have to check it out.

A third? Nah. More like a fifth.

Awesome!
As far as the classics are concerned, I'm impressed. Flawless execution, perfectly workable even under Vista, and completely seamless. No ScummVM either, which is very interesting. Looks like they've done it right so far.
