Just Sony putting a fixed lifespan on their consoles. I'm not surprised, their still getting royally fucked by the PS2 and people still using it. So I guess their putting in a failsafe this time.. :nono:

That's the most ridiculous claim I've seen all week, and it's only day 1 of 7.

And with that post Bluegrime seals his place on the placard of useless tards.

All right. I turn my PS3 on. BAM - it thinks it's the first day of the first month of the year 2 treble oh.
Okay. So I disconnect the internet from the PS3. I go to the time and date settings, and manually set the date to the 1st of March '10.
I launch a game of Uncharted 2. I play it. It works. Wipeout HD works too.
So, uh, what's the problem? I guess there's potential online shenanigans causing people to go ballistic, but the single player side of things looks just about fine.

Goddamn it, and I thought the original 60 GB ones were the only ones worth having!
I'll ask my next-door-neighbor about this bug to see if he got hit with it, and if it's solved now.

Yep, same issue, mine showed the wrong date upon starting up, and any trophy enabled games don't work. Neither do PSN games, like my free copy of ragdoll kung-fu. Haven't tried my older, non-trophy enabled games (R&C Tools of Destruction and MGS 4).
I'm VERY pissed because I've been dying to play some Demon's souls.

It'll last 24hours, then the clock will be less confused. Or so they tell us. Didn't use the PS3 - had to do a whole CD copy to external HD and plug into the HDMI ported netbook that is sans CD/DVD drive.
