Well, after eight years I am back. I pulled out my lockpicks, restrung my bow, sharpened my sword and with sap in hand I am ready to once again ply the trade taught to me by the Keepers.
I got a bit distracted, nothing too out of the ordinary in terms of what people go through in life though. My father died, I got divorced and remarried, moved around a bit and changed my country of residence. In all that my Thief discs either got ruined or lost. It wasn't until GOG released their version of Thief Gold that I was able to get back into the game.
Since I'm ready to delve into the Bonehoard, I thought I about resurrecting my old thread
(

I thought what better way to return then to bring up something that died long ago then to resurrect a thread about things long believed dead. But in the end, decided against it.
As a side note, I have yet to finish this game. It's got such a cool premise though and it's definately my favorite single player game. And I do have such a love for the Bonehoard. I was giddy all the way through Cragscleft because I knew that Bonehoard was next. It has to be my favorite game level in any game I have played. LOL. last year I even had a dream that I was competing on a game show and to get my prize I had to run the Bonehoard. Pretty cool dream, but I didn't get to see how it turned out since I woke up before I actually got in there. :(
So, it's about a month late but my New Year's Resolution is to finally finish this freakin' game. In my previous thread about the Bonehoard, Goldmoon Dawn, you said to let you know right after the cutscene for solving Return to the Cathedral. Is that offer still on the table? I promise I will really do it this time. :cheeky:
Anyway, it's good to be back. I didn't realize how much I missed this game til I started running the missions again. I am hoping GOG also releases Thief 2. If not I have enough here to keep busy for a while. Especially if I try to get expert good.
Cheers!

Wow you're starting a thread for coming back after 8 years as samsanov starts a thread for leaving after 8 years. Funny circle of life we have here.
Have fun finishing the game. It's a classic after all. :)

Everybody got a stool at TTLG. I'm dusting mine off for the umpteenth time myself.
I last played Thief around 2003, and I'm waiting to see if the Thief 2 version that GOG offers fixes the blue textures issue I was seeing that kept me from getting into it. Then, it's Thief Gold, from start to finish, 2, then 3.
Then, I hear there be some Fan Missions about.

He might be talking about the films, in which case he'll be leaving in July.

As in my old thread I linked, I finished Bonehoard. On expert, of course. Now it's the only way I'll play that mission. I died a bunch more times than I am used to in there. Mostly from missing my jumps going down in Mystic's Heart. Also died a lot of times after getting the Horn trying to get back from the ledge to the ladder.
Seems that my big problem, till I get used to the game again, is jumping. That leads me to a question, is Bonehoard probably the best place to practice jumps, ladders, mantling, etc.? Or is there another mission that is better for it.
My main problem now with Bonehoard is even on expert it's way too short, wish there was more to do in there. Wish the game had a "Return to...." mission for Bonehoard or a way to unlock new potions of the tomb with new objectives.
