Three months later my HealthCare is suddenly cancelled because apparently I'm not allowed to choose a minimum-coverage plan through the website... then why the FUCK did you offer it to me???
I have a week to fix it. Called the number - expected wait time "greater than 30 minutes". Guess I'm not the only one who got this bullshit notice then.
Seriously, this is so much fucking bullshit.

Take it from someone who is a federal employee. If all you got was some bad information followed by a refusal to fix it, count yourself lucky. The more likely outcome is that you would end up getting blamed(sometimes legally) for their mistake.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/04/insurance-companies-obamacare_n_4212552.html) There is strong evidence that some insurance companies are using Obamacare to scam their customers.
It makes sense that insurance companies would hate Obamacare; why else would they go out of their way to apply the law in the worst way possible? It's easy and they can get away with it because Republicans have got everyone so worked up about it, people who get fucked over by their insurance companies will blame Obamacare and not their provider.

Huh interesting. All the examples in the article are blue shield... which is what I signed up for.
HOWEVER, the notice I got wasn't from BlueShield, but covered california themselves, and it's a bit different than what the article cites. So a different issue I think?
In any case the CC guy I spoke with confirmed that I shouldn't have been allowed to select the plan I did, so they will look into how to fix it and get back to me tomorrow.
... which probably means I wont hear from them ever, so I'll miss out on the government subsidies and probably get slammed with penalties for not getting the insurance on time. Peachy...

Oddly enough, the health plans are better if I claim my boyfriend's wages instead of claiming no wages but it's still over 3,000 a year with almost 2,500 out of pocket expenses. We live together, and I'm his dependent. I don't know how this works regarding that and my boyfriend can't afford to insure us both, so I re-applied for Medicaid (for the 11th time; I've had medicaid twice in my life but they keep taking it away after a year or so, I think because my healthcare costs so much). I owe over 12,000 to just one hospital and am being sued regularly but I don't work. I feel like I'm trapped sometimes. I need continuous healthcare on a monthly basis from a psychiatrist, liver doctor (I have liver disease), primary care, and I need weekly psychology visits. I also have to see an OBGyn and Oncologist every six months (rotational) due to my cancer that is in remission. Oh, and I also had skin cancer removed over a year ago and a pre-cancerous growth in my upper mouth, and I'm supposed to be checked yearly by the dermatologist and dentist. However, I don't work or have insurance, so I am now late for all my cancer checkups by half a year. The system will never work for me, not even ObamaCare. My state (Indiana) decided not to expand Medicaid, too. I have diabetes type 2, severe psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, non-alcoholic liver disease, and bone degeneration in my spine along with other spinal abnormalities (I was born with almost all of these besides the diabetes which is a result of the Polycystic Ovarian Disease I was born with). I can't walk for more than a few minutes and am usually bedridden. I also have Borderline Personality Disorder, Major Chronic Depression, and Bipolar I Disorder. My parents were begged by the hospital I was going to be born at not to have me and to abort me instead because my quality of life would be bad. However, my parents couldn't part with their first child so here I am. Sorry for the pity party, but it's been a hard year and being denied SSDI and being sued by Medicaid is wearing me down. They are suing me for chronic healthcare that wasn't related to my cancer. I don't know what to do anymore.
Just so everyone understands, insurance companies that cancel people due to ObamaCare are doing so because they do not meet the standards given by ObamaCare. Those standards are actually good standards and the companies are releasing customers because they would rather do that than adjust their policies to be up to par. That is my understanding of the situation, anyway.
