Women, there were a lot of women on staff at LGS. In comparison, at one time Blizzard only had 2 women in any creative position, out of more than 80.

Amusingly one sided. You'd think they'd have been able to find a few more interested ladies.

Hey, you're right. I never noticed that.
I also learned somewhere that a lot of successful games allow everyone to be designers and contribute their ideas to the game. Insomniac Studios, while developing Spyro the Dragon did this. I'm not sure if LGS did it, too (from a behind the scenes video, though, one of the LGS developers said that working on the team was like being in a bus with 50 of your brothers and sisters, so I guess it was pretty close and cooperative.)
I have a feeling that a lot of game studios today are structured like assembly lines, though--what with the generic games that have come out as of late.

In interviews and threads about who contributed what, they always say something to the effect that everyone had a hand in the story and mission design, even though one or two people worked on a given mission the most.
Some of them have also called it their dream job, while they were where and recently.
We don't know if women are or aren't applying for the jobs or if anything else is a factor. It's also pretty common for the women to be mommies first, and even working from home, but we haven't heard anything about EM's employee roster. We could look at the Deus Ex 3 credits when they're released.

well they're still hiring for thief 4 as far as I know, the only thing you really need is the ability to speak and read english and french.

Heheh. One needs more than that.

If you want to fix T4, the solution is simple:
LAURA F'ING BALDWIN
End of thread.

If only it were possible to have a reasonable facsimile of her style.
If only...
Unparalleled. I love the fact that she always had to be told to shorten her writings. That meant her brain was in overdrive, but this time it would be fantastic if all the cut out material was made available, never wiped from existence.
The pagan, pirates, stevedores, guttersnipes, and other rural and unsavory characters need her desperately.

and the desire and capability to up sticks and move, or at least commute regularly, to Montreal for the duration of the contract
I would love to but I'd have to leave my OH for a year, plus my home, friends, family etc..
in these days of high speed internet, videoconferencing and the fact that a lot of people have more compute power and storage in their homes than LGS did to develop TDP & TMA, is it really necessary to move everyone to the same office in the same town just so you can develop a project, hell if they had teleworking capability I'd offer to work on this for half rate maybe even a quarter
