Yeah. Still, I'll reserve judgement for when I play it.

It's not the damage markers, these are in most FPSes. But the white markers point out the direction in which nearby enemies are.
Just when I think games could not possibly be dumbed down any further, they love to prove me wrong

I'm sure a way will be found.

The only weak justification I can come up with, just to play devil's advocate because they do stick out a lot, is that they're an extension of the tag-with-your-binoculars enemy detection system from Far Cry 1 and will only show enemies that you've spotted. Shouldn't be too hard for them to have them switched off on harder difficulty levels.
Oh wait, it's Ubisoft, which means any minor, easily-fixable issues with balance or pacing will remain in the game forever, completely locked out from any kind of modding. :p

I'm actually with Koki on this one. One of the things I really loved about
Far Cry 2 was the minimal (or was that non-existent?) hud.
Minimal, I suppose. But yeah, that's my favorite aspect of FC2. Seeing it rolled back in three (HUD minimap FFS?) is extremely disappointing to me.

New trailer with gameplay footage.
The return of the flamethrower and a first person cover system, fuck yes!

Isn't that one guy who was being so obstructive gone? I would imagine with a proper adult rating it wouldn't matter anymore.
