I haven't started on this yet. Someone mentioned this in the DDFix technical thread but I'm 50/50 as to what benefits an OpenGL version of DDFix would give.
Does anyone have any reasons in favour?

Perhaps, it was me :erm:. Although I'm not a graphics programmer, I've been thinking that way: there are some advanced game engines use(d) OpenGL (id Tech 1-4 and probably 5, Serious Engine 1, StarBreeze Engine, World of Warcraft), so why not to adapt DDFix for this API? I know it will be very difficult as TimeSlip said, but all that problems with different DX versions (6 and 9), and fog absense are really annoying for the most DDFix users, IIRC. Maybe OpenGL will resolve them?

Won't OpenGL give you platform independence, since Dark uses DirectX which locks you to Windows?
