That's enough everyone. Let us all agree to disagree on this topic. Anything else off-topic will be deleted.
Thank you.

I've seen the steep parallax mapping page before, but the other one is brand new to me. I think I'll give it a go and see how it turns out.
Thanks for the heads up. :thumb:

I think the bit of offtopicness started on page 3. Openthief has a lot of reading to do.:o I don't think it was all way off base though, since we are discussing opensource projects.:)
Okay, I'll be quiet.

The thread really should be solely about Openthief, but it's ended up being a debate about whose blackjack is bigger. We really need to get back on topic and focus on bashing, err, discussing openThief's so-called "project." Work with me here, people. ;)

Well, we haven't heard anything from OpenThief in a while and not many of our questions have been answered, so I guess there wasn't much more to show than a concept (which equals to practically nothing). Maybe s/he'll come back and haunt us five years from now with a full-fledged Thief-like game... (One can always wish, right? :erg: ).
I was going to say "the more, the merrier", but I'm not sure; maybe it's better to focus on a few good projects (like TDM and opde) and get those done in shorter time. The pool of competent programmers that are also Thief-fans and have time to spare may not be big enough for more than a few projects.
Suggestion to OpenThief:
Why don't you offer the time and the competence that you may have to opde?

S/He said s/he couldn't work on it much anymore, and came here hoping someone else would take the project over. :D
S/He popped in briefly the other day and had a look here. I should say s/he logged in briefly, as I can't say s/he isn't lurking.

I could still help on some coding tasks as AI or GUI but I cant lead the project anymore.
So, maybe s/he could help out some with opde!?
