Alright, fine. there's nothing remarkable about the 9th of November really, except that as my sister and I were growing up we knew about four people who had birthdays on that date. As if that weren't enough, we could actually fill just about all of the second half of October and the first half of November with the birthdays of people we knew (including my sister herself). It was by far the most crowded period (har) of the year for birthdays.
In trying to figure out why this was, the knowledge in high school that there's actually a bit of a delay in fetilisation was useful. In fact the delay can be several weeks. With such a give and take in timing (finding an expression without a lot of innuendo is hard- oops-. I nearly put 'over-under' instead, so be grateful) this places a back count from those birthdays pretty neatly in the vicinity of Australia Day.
Thanks to this we've come to call people born in this time of year Australia Day Babies and find it fascinating that there doesn't seem to be the same sort of statistical clump arising from Christmas and New Year or other standard drinking occasions. Also my parents are a little bit patriotic. Who knew?
I'm curious if there are other such dates in other places; whether there's a lot of 4th of July babies for example, or if it actually creates a large gap as people are feeling especially puritan. And don't say it's a big drinking occassion for at least some people. That doesn't matter as we know Yanks can't hold their piss well enough to keep it together and get the job done.

Well either we celebrate Australia day secretely in France or it has more to do with some arcane magics of January because natality also peaks in October around here.
And one of my cousins was born on the 9th of November too, so there's that.
Otherwise unmemorable date. Looking at all my photos since 2006, it's amazing how none of them was taken a ninth of November, proving conclusively how unmemorable that date is.

Maybe it's to do with keeping warm. Oh, but that wouldn't work down under.
Valentine's to 9/11 is about 9 months.

Cool, so I got an opinion. Now its all me.
9/11 was necessary, and a godsend for starving artists. Get rid of the ultimate symbol of capitalism, a chain reaction starts. The economy starts to slowly bleed to death (GOOD). People revert to their apathetic indifferent lives, but coninue getting more apathetic and indifferent by the day. Good for them. They're expendable. 99.99% of this nation's population is expendable. And I need not mention that good ol' George Dubya is a terrorist, unfortunately a terrorist fighting on the wrong side (terrorism is so effective an economic tool). Those people in the towers had been working and living their miserable lives between those walls and most of them probably had a death wish. The jihadists did them a favor. The jumpers, I can admire them. They were making the statement that they woud go out decisively, not by some accident. They were letting their lifelong misery be known to the outside world. That's what I think, and I admire to the utmost the fighters of Flight 93, how had the guts to stand up for their own fucking surivival. I don't doubt one of those planes was a similar story, but there were too many stupid fuckbags in the plane that the plan never went underway and they ended up killing 4000 in addition to themselves instead of just themselves.
