From The Circle's news section...
Today I am pleased to present something that is not simply just a piece of nostalgia, but an important record of a development process and the people who were involved in it. With the help of a hardworking contributor, the original website for The Dark Project is now back online. This was painstakingly pieced back together as best as possible from old saved files and remnants stored on internet archives, to create something as close to the original website as possible. Without further banter, I give you...

And a huge thanks to Gail for making this possible. Be sure to check out the development diary!
Some notes..
- The screenshots section is there, and contains only thumbs we were able to salvage. We weren't actually able to find any of these old screenshots. Maybe one or two, but rather than have just a few working, we just closed the links.
- Any links to other locations on the LGS site of course don't work.
- We tried to stay as true as possible to the original site, so where we couldn't give a working link, we just left the text, rather than removed the whole thing.

Hey guys...I'm Gail, I put the Dark Project page together....woo! I must say...it was quite a fun experience. I had to fix up a bunch of the links and images, the paths were all incorrect. I had to go through and remove links to all external pages, and I had to rename files and put them in the right places. Also, I needed to find the archived pages because I was missing most of the images and layouts. Without the archive, I had no idea what any of it looked like....not a fun time. But I got it figured out and put together.
Check it out, see what it looks like, and read what some of the devs said in there...it'll give you a good laugh ;p
I hope you guys enjoy this page as much as I do. It was quite an assignment, but I'm glad it's up for you all to enjoy.:D

I have been getting our terrain-changing "earth arrows" into the game.
Anyone know what those were all about?
Digital Nightfall on 4/7/2006 at 01:13
Just the old name for moss arrow.

I would like to see the couple big screenies that exist, rather then only using thumbs because not all the screens are there.
This from the dev journal was great:

Well, technically it's January 23, since it's 1:00 am. We're pulling an all-nighter in preparation for a company demo tomorrow.
We had the first project-induced suicide this week. It was one of our AI's. He'd just got his shiny new physics model on his sword, and provoked by the appearance of the player-character, wound up and swung with mighty abandon. Following through less than adroitly, he managed to hit himself and promptly keeled over.
I love this phase of a project, because your bugs get so much more entertaining. -Tim

Plus I found it interesting how they totally shot down "Spiderman" wall climbing, hehe

this is quite amazing, although this part kinda makes me bummed....

Compete in multi-player "theftmatch" play to steal the most loot ... from the local nobles or from each other.
