Woah, cool.
A small area for improvement-- (
http://www.thief-thecircle.com/darkproj/sym_3.gif) sym_3.gif currently animates WAY too fast. This is because versions of Internet Explorer prior to version 6 default to a 100ms frame delay if the specified delay is less than that. Due to this, many animated GIFs created during this era just left the frame delay at 0 or some other low default value.
Thus, this GIF should probably be tweaked to an explicit 100ms per-frame delay.

I love it.
I love that it has a manifesto.
And a vision ... And it's still inspiring almost a decade later.
How many games now-a-days come with a manifesto?

My god, it's beautiful. It brings a tear to the eyes, it does...

A perfect post for this Through The Looking Glass forum.
This is precious material.
:)
Has a link been placed in the FAQ and/or at TheCircle, outside the news section so this doesn't "dip below the radar?"

This is fantastic. I really appreciate the thought and effort that went into revitalizing this great piece of Looking Glass history. :)

Nice job. It brings back fond memories of when I would steal glimpses of the dev diary on my employer's broadband connection. I still remember the anticipation for that first Thief game.
Jeez, I'm old.

Excellent, thank you for bringing this back. I still have an old Eidos catalogue-thing I got with some other game which features a page on "Dark Project" Interestingly, while it goes into a lot of detail about the features of the Dark Engine it doesn't mention anything of the gameplay or plot.

Woah, looks good.
I have a 4 page TDP magazine that came free with a games magazine about the time that Thief was released. It has some nice art, early screenshots, character profiles and choice Hammer/Pagan quotes. Also an interview with Greg LoPiccolo.
Anyone else seen this? I could organise some scans.

Is there any way to get the old video of Thief where Garrett dives into the pool at Baffords at the end?It was the very first Thief vid released I bielieve.
