Your sarcasm has all of the subtlety of a kindergartener smearing fingerpaint and it is exactly why you are a dipshit. The problem is that the equivalence you're trying to paint just isn't there, and thus the sarcasm you attempt falls flat.
You fail. Spectacularly. Again.

These guys are concentrated kickass and determined beyond what normal people have any conception of.
GET SOME.
But seriously, there are lots of questions being asked in Australia about whether it would have been more strategic to capture Bin Laden and prosecute him rather than providing him a martyr's death. That, combined with the feelings of many that parading in the streets afterwards was in both poor taste and poor judgement, means that there are plenty of mixed feelings about the whole matter.

I just took a class on terrorism as part of my politics masters.
Mix in some styrofoam with the gasoline and your Molotov cocktail will burn longer and evenly.

No, you fail spectacularly by thinking I was attempting to make a serious, rational argument. I even said in another post that I had put that there just to bait people. You're attacking an embarassingly bad strawman. Secondly, you're making the same mistake that Trump does: confusing the right's extremists and base. Go crawl back to your apartment and resume your planning for a final solution to the conservative problem.

Your serious? People actually believe that shit? He remembers no gladness when Hitler was finally known to killed? What fucking bunker was he hiding in? People were happy as hell all over so you better ask somebody who knows how to do something other than lie. After Linclon was shot the south was beat down starving but clung to honor which was all it had left and Boothe was surprised to find himself a pariah. Ask any historian. This Bob spouts shit and people are licking THAT up?
Yeah, its a point I noticed as being singularly stupid. It took me all of 30 seconds to find this picture of VJ day:

http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/PHO/sp_AAIC090_20x24.jpgThere's one area where it could be argued that equivalency does not exist. While VE and VJ day celebrated the end of armed conflict. Bin Laden's death seems like it is only going to be marked by the escalation of the "war on terror" and the powers needed for "a time of war" will stay in effect indefinitely.
What I'm wondering is why we performed what could technically be considered an assassination instead of hauling him back here for a big trial. Based on what we know right now, it seems like we had the ability to capture him. The current groupthink in the press seems to be that we did it the way we did in order to avoid making him a martyr, but its probably going to backfire and do just that.

Fair dinkum about questions. I've read quite a few. Some few are thoughtful. There are always armchair quarterbacks, after the fact second guessers, and postulaters particularly among those predisposed to disbelieve anything the US says. But when the Geneva Conventions allows for the action provided he didn't surrender then everything else is just an expression of your preset and unmovable by logic predjudice. The only valid question is whether or not you consider the US to be at war with Al Qaeda which has openly declared war on the US. I suppose you could quibble fine points as so many Aussies have like whether the Taliban it was allied with was part of that war despite thier shelter of AQ and whether the US coming into the Afghan civil war on the side of the northern alience was a legal war and OMG WAR ON TERROR NOT REAL WAR HURR DURR.
It's easy to second guess but not fair to claim you are upholding a high ideal when really squirming to find any way to blame the US. We don't know exactly what went on in that house so it's all guessing and giving away our predjudice. We do know he was well versed in explosives and the putting on of vests full of them. We know the loose clothing he wore. We don't know his plans in such a very possible situation that surely he had some plan for. In the dark after his wife had screamed and attacked only to be shot in the leg did he reach up his sleeve and scratch his elbow at the wrong time or throw his hands up saying you got me copper? We don't know. All that is being done now is to show whether our sympathies lay with those sworn to destroy us or the evil US.
Stategic capture? God what a bloody nightmare it would be if he was captured. The number of people captured and held for his ransom and how we would have to let them die. But there you have me. I don't have any idea how I might have reacted after being shot at. Maybe the seal was trigger happy after that. Who the hell knows?
As for a bunch of mostly college age kids celebrating for a few hours spontaneously after hearing the news, well they were glad a bastard like Osama was dead. It's not like it went on for days.

I'm still wondering about that Al-Qaeda letter on Bin Laden's death. How did they confirm that he's dead?
Also in that letter they apparently demanded his corpse. So when was that written and by whom?

So your defense is "I'm just a troll, and what I'm saying is retarded, so you're wrong."
Think about that, and get back to us when you figure out why it doesn't work.
Yes, you are a sarcastic troll, but at the heart, you ACTUALLY BELIEVE that the incivility on the left is comparable to that on the right. It's a necessary assumption underlying your attempt at sarcasm. It's also demonstrably wrong.
So stop embarrassing yourself by smearing shit like that on the forum in the first place.

Its great to know that should you lose at Wall Street Politics, you can always fall back to your promising career as a psychic.
Are we allowing mind-reading into debate now? How am I supposed to defend against this kind of argument? This discussion is pointless and the conversation is now over.
