OK, this has been mentioned a couple of times now. Do you really think a better option was to leave him alive? He wasn't going to allow himself to be captured, so that possibility was out. I think given the pluses and minuses, it's still an easy choice - you have to take him out.

An interesting side story to all this is whether there will be some repercussions for Pakistan. Apparently Bin Laden's complex was 1000 yards from a Pakistani military base.

Yeah, I'm guessing the last thing Bin Laden wanted was to be "on display" to the world, held in chains in U.S. custody.
