The guy owned a large farming operation and was a sociopath. Black market connections, terror training groups or anything else were not necessary based on the information that has come to light about him.
A post or two on the Internet inferring some kind of group action on this attack is going to be a troll, not somebody slipping up and then deleting it quickly afterwards.

What I will say is that Sulfur isn't the only component. Its the actual chemicals that are the hard part, all the equipment that you need can be found in your average high school lab. Some of the stuff he was looking for in that article are also not indicative of a rookie: this guy did his homework before the attack.
I will say that the guy putting nicotine in his bullets strikes me as bizarre at best, though.
