Bet there was quite a few disappointed folk around the world, when it transpired that the motherraper that did it was an extreme right-wing Christian fundamentalist instead of usual al-Qaeda drone. Which, of course, is where the blame went in first reports.
To be fair, the first reports I heard said that some radical muslim group was claiming credit, so it's not like everyone jumped to blame them without ANY cause.
Except maybe (
http://mediamatters.org/blog/201107230001) fox news, which used it as an excuse to say SEE THATS WHY AMERICA SHOULDN'T HAVE MOSQUES because they're useless cunts pandering to retards, but we already knew that.
Bet the Global Jihad group felt silly when it turned out to be an lilly-white anti-muslim right-wing christian, though.

That's not what they said at all. They, along with a huge portion of America, just don't want a fucking mosque within spitting distance of ground zero.

People tell me I'm crazy when I say I'm pro-capital punishment. This is why.
it's true, if you kill the guy then all the people he killed will instantly come back to life
damn those fucking liberal pussies

Right, because they, and a large portion of america, are a bunch of fucking ninnies who can't exert enough mental force to differentiate between the muslims who carried out the Trade Center attacks and the ones who want to build a muslim community center in the vicinity of the ex-Trade Center, just like they can't differentiate between the muslims who carried out the Oslo attacks from the ones who want to build a muslim community center in the vicinity of the ex-Trade Center. Oh wait, the Oslo attacks weren't muslims, and there actually is no connection between the Oslo attacks and Park51 at all. But fox jumped to make one, and you're child if you really believe there's no chance that its rabid eagerness to do so wasn't aimed at or wouldn't have the effect of stirring up general anti-muslim sentiment that'd go beyond the specific Park51 issue.

To get a little more on track, seems like, as always with unexpected terrorism, the problem is that it's so hard to prevent (thus, it's unexpected). You can't just slam the hammer down on all the right-wingers in Norway anymore than we could have done so on all muslims after the 9/11 attacks, and you can't investigate everyone who says "grr muslims" on the internet anymore than you can investigate you can for those who say "grr jews". (Or maybe you can in Norway, I don't know.)
Short of tracking all fertilizer purchases or removing all guns and weaponry from the face of the earth it seems like the best option is to try to prevent people from being so stupidly hateful in the first place, which is another can of worms.

It was unreal to read the death toll had risen from around 10 on last night to 84 this morning... Apart from being obviously completely insane, the killer has strong political and religious views which he is seemingly eager to share. The scariest part is that what he has now done is probably the best way for him to sound out his distorted thoughts to the whole world.

Can we stop with the political bullshit? Please? For just a few days? If not for our sake, then for the sake of the victims?
SD on 23/7/2011 at 18:40
I can't be absolutely certain, but I think the victims are fairly unlikely to be browsing TTLG at this present time.
