Look how railed up you are over the innocents the terrorist killed. This is exactly what they wanted to achieve.
Trance on 25/7/2011 at 21:41
How'd the kill count go from 84 to 76? Did 8 people rise from the dead?
Scots Taffer on 25/7/2011 at 22:10
75 confirmed now. Good news. I for one welcome our new Norwegian undead friends.

Apparently they miscounted due to the panic. Better to keep people alive before you start counting the ones that are dead.

Yeesh, of all the times a zerg rush would have been the best strategy.

So, it is starting to seem like he may have had some help. There's some buzz that was discovered an anti-muslim sites about how "we" are stockpiling weapons and something will happen "soon", that was quickly deleted after the attack.
still, everything about it does seem odd. My off the record opinion is that the patterns of the attack are more consistent with Al-Quaeda's methodology than with what lone wolves seem to do. Most likely this guy was part of an extremist group that studied Al-Quaeda and imitated their methods in order to plan the attack.

Really? You don't have to study anything to plant a bomb and then go shoot up a place.
I hate these "he/they had training!" claims. I wouldn't need training so I don't get it, but then maybe I'm just really adaptable/able.
I do use chrome after all.

Hmm...old post got deleted.
SE, you're right. You don't really need training to detonate a bomb, but the fact of the matter is that an Effective attack is something that amateurs can rarely pull off.
If nothing else, the type of the explosive used is a key indicator. The HME he used in his car(ammonium nitrate) is relatively easy to make, but requires a massive amount of fertilizer that is difficult for one person to handle. You also have to purchase a noticeable quantity of chemicals that are illegal for civilian use in Europe, indicating that he had at least some black market connections.
Furthermore, once completed there's some drawbacks to it. Its relatively unstable to the point where even shock can detonate it. Hell, you hear stories about insurgents here blowing themselves up with it all the time. It also breaks down over time due to air humidity, so odds are that he made the bomb in a relatively short period of time.
That and other indicators (placement of the car bomb, trigger mechanism, his scouting activities) would point towards the attack being inspired by Oklahoma City and drawing tips form Al-Quaeda tactics.
