There are a couple things in the Thief games that always irritated me; things that I saw as pretty needless and/or useless ('k, I won't mention undead here). The one thing I found most irritating (besides zombies/haunts, (sorry, couldn't stop myself)) were those ridiculous Mech servant children; the bronze-colored ones. The ones you can't KO and who follow you all over the place making those Godawful high pitched noises to the point where you have to take time away from your mission to find a place you can lock them up in. So I wouldn't feel bad
not to see them included in any future Thief games. In mho they serve no purpose other than to be irritating as hell.
Haha but they were so cute.. :) More: they along with the chatter boxes, had the function to advise the combat robots of an enemy presence. First time I've seen the bronze childrens, I was scared to death, thinking that was that thing the new weapon mentioned by Karras in the New Scriptures part found in that chamber (the one with the grate ground).

Scouting orbs, for me, are not an irritant, but it just seems like every time you turn around you're acquiring another one or three. I very rarely use them and doubt I'd miss them if they weren't included in T4..
I've found them quite useful instead, in a lot of original and fan missions. Nothing better than a scouting orb for investigating what's happend beyond when you hide yourself in a corner behind!

I'm apparently blind. Thanks ;)

Invisibility potions? :p
Also, a Child of Karras acting as a shower/scrubber could be nice, potentially.

Ah! A water fountain, too! Hahaha! Bot-heads mounted as gargoyles, gurgling water through their mouths.
An eccentric old junk-collector (or fence!) with these cast-iron, brass, and bronze pieces decorating his front yard.

If it's possible... I think it will be interesting to have a specific AI that can have not hearing and vision only, but has a sense of smell. To make it possible to sneak past such an AI it will be possible to shoot, for example, gas arrows (provided that that gas has a smell) - and make them without one of the rest of the feelings - for example, make it blind or deaf.
It's just my imagination, but it would be interesting to see this...

That would certainly make you think twice about entering the target building through the sewers... :eww:
