So let me ask some questions while the topic is up.
- Do most/ some/ few of the people that post in non-English forums also post on TTLG?
- Does that have to do mostly with language ability, or maybe more cultural?
- For people that post in both ... how do the discussions differ?
Are you more likely to bring up topics that wouldn't come up as likely in TTLG, or is it just a nice chance to talk about the game you love in your native language?
E.g., I'd think some things, like hints on a specific FM, you're more likely to find the answer faster at TTLG's FM Forum, or like Dromed advice, there's more collective wisdom centered at TEG to answer a question. (maybe I'm over-estimating those 2 things).
But maybe for other issues, you'd rather post on a national forum first? Just curious how that works out.
- And, flip side, having your own native-language forum, what attracts you to still come to TTLG, in addition? More going on (being a larger group), or maybe feeling like you're part of a broader international community, and it's fun to be part of something bigger than the society around you, something truly global (well, among 'developed' states anyway). That's one thing I love about this group.
- Does English as a 2nd language affect anything (many people's English is very good)? Does it inhibit you, or actually drive you to use and improve your English so you can participate ... this crowd is usually pretty tolerant of people struggling with English if they are making a sincere effort (unless it's AOL leet speak, in which case there's very little tolerance!)
Sorry, too many questions! Answer what you like.
BTW, I don't want to start any debate about which forums are "better" or anything like that.
I'm just honestly curious how the Thief community works outside of TTLG on non-English forums.

Thanks guys. So, how many of you actually participate in these forums?

Yes. In Russian forum more resource (warez) for DromEd (textures, objects, etc).
