...here, but I need some feedback. I've played plenty of fan missions for Thief, so I'm pretty familiar with that realm, but recently all I here about is Deus Ex "mods" and I can't figure out what the hell a mod is. Is it not a fan mission? I guess not since DeusEx-Machina.com has a section for fan missions and there aren't any there. So what is a mod, anyway?

Ahh, I remember my mod experience..it was the vietnam mod for Duke3D.
Anyway, mod is short for "modification" which changes things in the game. There's two kinds Total Conversions (TC) and Partial Conversion (PC). For example, if someone changed Deus Ex to be in modern time instead of the future and changed the weapons, maps, augs, nearly everything, then it would be a TC.
If someone made a mod that makes the silenced pistol and uber-1337 weapon, that'd be a PC. You can usually run more then one PC when you're playing.

Counterstrike is a total conversion mod of Half-life.
The grappling hook was a partial conversion mod for Quake.

So what's the best, or most recommended mod for Deus Ex out there?
