Anyone played it yet? Impressions?

Played the demo, found it amusing and enjoyable but I'm going to wait on the reviews to see if the full game sustains the tone and/or adds more depth to the gameplay. Triumph created the 'Age of Wonders' series, so I'm simultaneously fairly confident that they'll produce another good title and crossing my fingers that it doesn't flop- Not that I have any reason to think it will, I just want to see them have a big hit.

If you have nothing at all to say about this game could you at least provide us with a link? Not googling this shit out of PRINCIPLE.

Yes, i've played the demo several times. Reminiscent of Dungeon Keeper to some extent... pretty fun stuff.
My main concern is replayability. Most of the cooler themed games these days tend to be about 12 hours long and out.

Overlord is about the Pantomine of Evil. The "you" when the children cry "HE'S BEHIND YOU!!!!" That's you.
I don't think they got that right :P

Overlord is THE most awesomest game!! I swear, I've played it through a dozen times, and it never gets old (course now when I play I use a trainer which allows me to do all sorts of extra evil stuff).
How can you not love a game with minions!?!

It has a few flaws, not game-breaking, but annoying (especially the first time through).. like the lack of some sort of useful map, I spent a LOT of time running around in circles. And apparently there's a bug in the XBox version (this doesn't affect me though) that *is* game breaking, but I think they've finally patched that. I think my main gripe would have been with the story exposition (or lack thereof), by the end of the game you really have to kind of put it all together yourself. I was certain at that point I must have missed some vital cutscene(s). My guess would be that maybe some publisher time push caused the bits during the game that should have given you more info about the whole "what happened before, and how you got there" to get left out.
Anyway... I think it's the "total escape" thing I love so much about it... I can immerse myself in the game and there's not a single thing about it that I can relate to my real life.
I give it 5 thumbs up :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
