I found overlord pretty enjoyable for a while, but for me it did get old. When I bought it, it was $40. I don't think it was worth $40 then, and it definitely isn't now when there are so many other good games out. That said, it may very well be worth the $25 Amazon is charging for it, especially if you have an Amazon gift certificate from xmas :).
The game does have a sense of humor, which is really nice, but it does get repetitive.

Well, this game is now on (
http://www.gametap.com) gametap.com. I am a paid subscriber of it, and decided to download it. My f-ed up ati 9800 PRO is VERY picky about what games, post-Half-Life 2 it will not overheat on. This is one that it works (and well) with. Yes!
Anyway, if you are a fan of the Dungeon Keeper games, this is a must-play. I started playing it yesterday, immediately upon downloading it.
4 hours later I saved and exited. I haven't played more than 2 hours of a game in a whole DAY, let alone in one sitting in years. That says something.
Anyhow, like I said, the game is one Gametap and should be budget priced otherwise. Hell, there is even a (
http://www.gamershell.com/download_19555.shtml) demo. Whatever you have to do, get it and play it.

That very much depends on why you're a fan of DK. It never really feels like you're in control or evil, you're always told to go somewhere and in order to do so, you must fix things for the unhappy populace.
