Now whilst I say remake, the game doesn't stick "strictly" to the level design of Halflife 1 but its still quite close. Anyways this week I came across a new Halflife TC for GZDoom by the name of "Paranoid".
Quick youtube check had this videos of it in action:

I've seen plenty of Doom and other game TCs for other games, but never a TC of a more newer game, hence the mention. In some places the likeness is uncanny, in other places not so much. But still what an achievement.
Goes to show what the more newer enhanced versions of the doom engine can do these days.
I'm only 10 minutes into the TC so the likeness may diminish, but time will tell.

Might want to check your thread title.

So, it's basically Half-Life, except slightly worse looking?
What is the point of this, exactly? I mean, ok it shows you can do some cool stuff with the Doom engine, but is that it?

LOL @ ZB. icey you might wanna put the correct title in your title. :laff:
Anyway, this looks SWEET. I thought it would be stupid and pointless, but I am frothing at the mouth to try this one out. Thanks, icey.

I played it a while back. While it does a good job showing what can be done with the Doom engine... meh.

Thread title fixed. I had been thinking since it was put in a worser engine that that`d make it a demake but pumping a few hours into it, nope more a remake though completely different levels. Gameplay is very very similar however. Same sorts of straffing required against the army guys for example. Enjoying it overall.

The thread title still appears incorrect at this end - are you sure you changed it?

The term people use is demake, but whatever.
I was never a fan of remakes or demakes unless it's like such a radical change that it's really a new game, like if someone had made a C64 or Nintendo version. Still interesting to see it for what it's worth.

I was referring to calling it "Paranoia" rather than "Paranoid". The text in icemann's first post refers to it correctly so I assume it is / was a simple mistake.

Al_B caught it. Paranoid as opposed to Paranoia.
