Anyone have one of these? Just ordered one, looking for opinions:
Logitech G13

http://www.southquarter.com/g13-1.jpgThere are a few competitors, like the Belkin N52te and the Ideazon Fang, but the Logitech one seemed like it had the most options.
One of the main reasons I ordered one was because I wanted a gaming keyboard with illuminated keys, but I didn't want to give up my ergonomic split kb for plain ole typing.

No, but it looks cool. I currently use a joystick in my left hand for the analog movement and feel of the analog stick over the WSAD keys. If this is nice, I might consider picking one up too. Please keep us informed!

I'd be interested to hear what you make of it, but my god, it looks butt ugly to me.

I don't think it's a good idea. Most PC games for a gamepad have either control scheme based on PS2 dualshock controller, or they're ports from X360. In my opinion it's better to have PS2 controller or similar (e.g. Logitech Rumblepad II) and the X360 controller for Windows. Btw. where's the second analog stick in this thingy?

This is more a keyboard replacement for FPSs rather than the gamepad you're thinking about.

Kroakie's right. He'd still be using mouse look for aiming/looking, but an analogue stick in place of WASD for movement.
For movement = Analogue stick > digital keyboard + speed modifier keys.

Not in any FPS requiring quick and precise movement, that is, just about any FPS ever made.

I have to disagree with that. I've found analogue movement to be much nicer than using a keyboard.

You would know this how? Considering that you've never used a controller with analogue sticks before.

The guy is pretty damn thick, but it doesn't change the fact that it's just fucking
painful to see an FPS being controlled with analog sticks. It's actually first time in my life I've seen it. It literally made me sad to watch him playing, it reminds me of original Doom with no mouse, no strafing and no aiming up/down, it's so fucking... stunted.

Analogue sticks are far more intuitive for MOVEMENT in a 3D environment, which has NOTHING to do with AIMING/LOOKING precision and speed. Something like Thief would've benefited greatly from analogue movement.
