Given that we can't query forum threads for just the information relevant to the platform(s) we own, there's nothing wrong with platform-specific threads.
I'm certainly more likely to follow a thread if I know it's not going to wander off into irrelevant console territory (admittedly I bought a PS2 a couple of years ago, but there's not much left to say about that machine).
Anyway, if you want an all-platforms best-of thread, go for it.

@dethtoll: You 'n me both, man. 'course I've not been here as long as yourself, but eh. PCs are great, always have been, but making a platform-specific thread now doesn't jive when there's been as much cross-pollination as we've had this generation.
For all you know, we could have people discussing the same bunch of games across three threads dedicated to separate platforms. Plus there's the brilliance of all these list threads devoted to more or less the same point in principle. Seems silly, if you ask me.
