CoD 7? I know there's CoD Warfare 2, which I guess is CoD 6, but where's the news on 7? Or were you just making that up?
Don't be naive, we all know that the releases of CoD sequels are annual. It and Guitar Hero are Activion's equivalent to Madden Football.

I hope you were being sarcastic.
Well excuse me for not knowing that. I mean seriously.

Obvious patterns are obvious. It may not have been announced yet, but everybody knows that Treyarch are highly likely already at work on a follow-up to World at War for the 2010 Xmas season. Just like how Infinity Ward will likely begin pre-production on "CoD8" as soon as MW2 goes gold, scheduled for a 2011 Holiday release.

And I wouldn't have it any other way. At the very least, Infinity Ward seem to finally be doing something new and inventive with the Modern Warfare series.

What are you referring to exactly when you say this? The narrative delivery in the SP campaign? Ignoring the overhauled multiplayer with RPG-esque elements, the series' gameplay formula has barely changed since CoD2 in 2005.

Yes, the narrative delivery plus the attempt at making a "modern warfare" setting that doesn't have Tom Clancy's name plastered all over it.

Okay, so a spammy, highly unrealistic (REGEN HEALTH, AHOY), arcade shooter is better than a tactical FPS that actually requires the player to dedicate some brain power whilst playing?
FYI I'm talking about the Tom Clancy sim titles that were designed for PC audiences, not the arcadey "Summer Blockbuster" ones made for Xbox.
EDIT: Hell, even 360 audience targeted Rainbow Six: Vegas has smarter gameplay than any of the CoD's. Every level present all sorts of room for strategic thinking.
A hostage situation in Room #1? Have my team stack on Door A, then I peek under the door with the filament camera and mark targets ranging in priority for the squad to eliminate. Change the Rules of Engagement to return fire only and I adjust my Rate of Fire to fully automatic. Finally I order my team to flashbang and clear, meanwhile I enter through Door B and quickly take down the enemies.
Man, now I feel like booting up SWAT 4.

I think you're confusing "better" with "different."
They mean two better things.
