Did a search, and couldn't find any threads talking about this:
(

This article claims that the PC gaming market is by far the largest, stating:
Quote:
This year the PC gaming market is worth over $20 billion, that figure will rise to $34 billion before 2012, and since 2005 there has been more gaming PCs shipped than the Wii, PS3 and 360 combined.
Actually, here's a more in-depth article, with more stats. The first link is more summarized.

A couple of things worth pointing out.
-it's about gaming PCs sold, not games sold.
-What counts as a "gaming" PC?

And it still doesn't argue for games going only-PC. The pressure to be multi-platform is still there. And PC gamers are probably more diverse in their gaming tastes than console gamers, so # of units sold doesn't translate as cleanly to attractiveness as a game platform.
I think it does mean that major games will continue to keep the PC on their roster of platforms for a while yet, though.
