Don't forget also when the rainswapped red duckling did a backflip into a burning vagina, particularly in light of the handbags at dawn incident, my god there must have been millions of white gloves. But lastly, the 40,000 dicks under the sea is probably the most important part of the game. but don't quote me on that

well that would make sense when you're talking about eminess, carpenter and even red. except that thomas was no longer infected by the turrngait, they'd have had to physically kill him, which woudl put a stop to the mind games. And I woudln't venture that the tuurngait still had any effect on his mind or even that there would be more after effects because clarence said he erased memories of red from thomas' mind, but he obviuosly still remembers. I just dont think it adds up. but if it does the way you say it does then thats rather anti climactic, say what you will about what adventure gaming is supposed to be but I thought Requiem felt awfully like frictional just handed the voice overs, engine and game assets to Rand Miller and said "go to town"
Dethtoll: You forgot to mention the Ketchup bottle grenade.

I'm through Penumbra games for the first time. Decent horror, like it a lot, but I shamefully admit I find it convenient to peek into walkthrouigh from time to time only to realize DAMN, I COULD HAVE THAT EASY IDEA, STUPID ME!
Physical model rocks. Right now I'm at the beginning of Black Plague and I've heard it's the best episode, I agree so far, tha game looks more professional than Overture (improved graphics and cutscenes mainly, controls a little bit).
I didn't mind the encounters in Overture, once I found safe way how to dispose of the bad doggies (jump on a crate, lure them to you with flashlight, crouch and hit them with pickaxe - they can't reach you. Or lure them to beef jerky and throw a dynamite at them). But forcing you to hide and escape from zombies in Black Plague is even more scary.
Pity that Requiem seems to be rushed, short, lacks developed story and takes a different course, as I hear.
Still for the price it's a superb indie game. Many commercial games could take examples from it.

Yes. But first 2 games are gorgeous horror adventures as for me. Nothing better has been released since CoC.

And what's Thiefy? Sword, blackjack, flashbombs, gasbombs...
In Thief I play lytha style only as long as it's fun anyway. In reality I would get tired of avoiding bad dogies very quickly if I had to move there and back again through the same area, if I had packs of dry meat, dynamite and a pickaxe I would certainly put them to good use.
Playing Black Plague now, it's certainly even more horrific and this time I have to avoid sick people! Goooooood!
Penumbras have strong Lovecraftian touch. Now excuse me I have to obey my inner voices.

So, Penumbra Requiem is a sure miss, then? I loved the first two, very refreshing games. I just finished Black Plague and loved it straight through. But if Requiem really is that bad, I'll skip it.
Any other opinions on Requiem?

I suppose I wouldn't say its a total miss. the puzzle solving is as good as any of the previous games. But it lacks suspense. its more like a mission pack or more appropriately a map pack that you'd release as DLC. Thats how it felt anyway. They said the lines between what is real and not is even harder to decipher in this one, but its more like... you're just playing puzzles that come from the same universe.

I just bought Project Snowblind for $10, and yes, I regret spending the money because it's a childish piece of crap. But you're right, it's probably worth it to atleast support Frictional. Well played, sir, well played.
