This bug happened to me a few month ago; I have one savegame about it. More in topic "The Thief Speed Collection".

Somehow I managed to make the effect of a speed potion permanent, even after saving and reloading the game. I believe it has something to do with saving the game at the right moment, perhaps exactly when the effect of the potion wear off.
I also think that this have something to do with using speedpotion, then saving game and loading game.

Happened by accident in Soulforge.
I also had this situation in mission "Sabotage at Soulforge". Is possible to load Thief 1 or Thief 2 savegames in program "DromEd", then study this savegame in this program?

Yes. Open up DromEd and in the bottom rh corner enter the command:
edit_load_game pathnameeg.
edit_load_game saves/game0007.savGood luck!

I tested it, and it works. But... based on this savegame, how I can study it (speedpotion bug in savegame)?

Came across this bug last night, only without the "saving and loading" part.
I was playing Sabotage at Soulforge (seems to be a popular mission for this bug). After switching the signal tower at the Turret Production area, I wanted a quick escape from that evil, evil room. At the elevator, I gulped down an invisibility potion, followed by a speed potion. That gave me enough time to run out, grab the items off the tables, and get to the shadow near the entrance before the invisibility wore off.
However, even though the invisibility effect wore off, the speed effect never did. Maybe I timed it just right so the effects would've ended at the same time, which somehow cancelled the speed effect's wear-off timer? I don't know.

Interesting. Speed runners should be very interested in duplicating this bug.
