As you may know, I've been dabbling in photography more and more lately and the logical next step was to try and make something out of it. So, following several suggestions from friends, I entered my very first photography contest! :)

Yes. I was playing with long exposures that evening and this particular one was left for 30 seconds (at f/22). During that time, a couple passed by on their bikes from one end of the frame to the other... salvaging what would have been a pretty bland photo. Pretty cool! :D

Yeah, as soon as you flash around a few snaps that are a bit nicer than purely practical ones some people say you should enter a competition (well, to me anyway). But you've usually got to be a bit deliberate and do a series or a theme. My post-hoc one percent hit rate's nowhere near what's necessary for that.
So more power to the proper, I say.

Some really nice photos here. I like the contrast you get in many of them - it's almost, but not quite, over exaggerated. Lends for great mood shots that are still warm.
