I just got back not even 20 minutes ago. It's 5AM, and I'm too tired to put out the muchly deserved complements for all the awe inspiring shots on display here (Duckeh's in particular are quite nice). Also kitties DAWWW.
So anyway, I took a few pictures tonight. Mainly because the moon is the brightest I've seen it in years. I went back to Hales Bar Dam to take some shots, but because I didn't have permission (despite asking over and over again for week), I didn't get any inside the building.
The one picture I'm showing now I choose because I've never taken a night picture quite like it. The moon was so bright, the end result looks like a strange mix of day and night. Bright blue sky, well lit dock, but with far too many shadows for it to have been taken during the day. It's not the best picture in the world, I think the motion blur on the clouds ruins things a bit, but it's interesting nonetheless. So here...

Edit: one more
This shot was taken at 3AM. The moon was so bright, it didn't oversaturate any of the manmade lights in the picture. Hence the reason why this batch consists of the few night shots I've decided to leave in color.

Impressive shots Renz :D Especially the first one. The contrast between the moving sky and the still water gives it a really moody tone, I love it :thumb:

They're adorable :D
Ain't they just. (I should add I enjoy looking at everyone's snaps rather a lot. I just haven't got much to say)

The best part about Dock is your inability to see the guy on the end of the pier except in the water reflection. I would blot out the red bits even, I mean, you wonder what they are and it takes away from the effect to do so. It's a bit of a surprise to notice the feet and then see the reflection and brings to mind how easy it is to miss someone in the dark and that creepy jolt you get when you do. Being at one with the night has an alien strangeness.
Speaking of, that giant sloth looks like the alien.
