Yeah the 18-55mm is pretty disappointing (this is more suited to the camera tech thread, I guess, but anyway). I don't know how flush you are or how much you feel like spending eventually and it depends what you want to do....
But the Canon 50mm f1.8 (http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EF-50mm-f-1.8-II-Lens-Review.aspx) plastic fantastic is a good quick and cheap buy. The field of view is a bit narrow on a crop sensor, but it's fast and sharp which is more than can be said of the 18-55 (just don't (http://members.iinet.net.au/~ragtag/IMG_2347small.jpg) drop it)

I think I will leave this here as it doesn't fit exactly but is a pic. Has anyone noticed the artwork of Brisk tea lables? I'm not sure whether it is on pupose or subliminal marketing or what but there are sex pics in the label. I'm not just a perv am I? Here is the melon one though the peach tea is a lot of tongues, butts, and tits as well. These are the most graphic I think.

I, uh, used to like tea a lot more (don't think we have that brand so we're probably safe)

In other news, the Sigma 30mm 1.4 (https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/_gYJusttSQUiO2Yo5gk6wg?feat=directlink) loves the nightlife. ( a pic that pleases me more because it was taken rather than it being particularly great in itself)

We spent most of the day photo-hunting with my dad... They really took their time before deciding to fly low enough for decent pics, but in the end patience paid off! :D
