Hello people,
I've been away from here for a long time but I thought you might be interested in what I've just posted up on the Oblivion forums: (

I know that Oblivion isn't a patch on the story-telling and immersion factor of 'Thief' but it has it's own good qualities and hopefully this might help you to warm to it alongside mods like the 'Thieves Arsenal' mod, the 'Basso' mod and the 'play as Garrett' skin
etc. etc.

Welcome back, IG!
I don't know how many regulars there are here that are avoiding Oblivion because it isn't Thief, but who knows? Shouldn't hurt to ask.
Just stopping by?
EDIT: Post Script, I do think that stuff is cool. It makes me smile knowing that taffers have successfully infiltrated other games and left their indelible mark.

Not sure about indelible, but from my WoW days, I once called a character a "taffer", and immediately received a whisper asking if I was a Thief player. Heh.

A condescending whisper or conspiratorial?:p

A high-fiving one, as it were. :D
Of course, these things aren't likely to happen anywhere but on the RP realms. I only mentioned it to illustrate the strange sense of fraternity I experience every time I discover that someone is a Thief fan.

Best game, best community, best everything...Thief!
Thanks for your wise and observant remarks, taffers. In answer to jtr7's 'just passing by' question, I may be recalled at some point in the future...who knows? At the moment, I'm still quite enjoying voice acting and I just love Hammerite voices. It may also interest you to know that I still pass by the old forums of the Hammerite Imperium from time to time. Alexius, the old project lead, often mentions writing up his version of my plot and I, too, have always considered the idea. Although it would bear only passing resemblance to 'Thief' and even to our huge project as it was written, it would nonetheless carry forward some notable elements.
I hope I get the muse to write some time in the future. There's a lot I would like to say in all sorts of areas that the whole atmosphere and 'steampunk' design of Thief would lend itself very, very well towards.
