I tried a lot of Steam community controller configs for Thief and they all sucked. Regarding the problem I had with lack of smooth movement with right stick camera: upping my frame-rate from 99 to 120 (also careful to enable the 60 FPS for physics in the cfg) helped make it smoother. I'm ready to tackle The Black Parade now after not having played a Thief FM in about 4 years. For fast paced games like FPSs a mouse and KB is superior but I find the controller for more leisurely, less action intensive games like Thief works best if you have what you consider the ideal cfg for that controller which for me is certainly the one I linked to above. It was originally designed for TDM but since that mod now has analog controller support built in it's no longer necessary but for Thief I & II I still find it useful and optimal.
