I have a conversation where three archers are rotating between to guard posts... 1 goes to 2, then 2 goes to 3, then 3 goes to 1, etc.
AIs patrolling around without making any noise is boring so I decided to include an atlevelzero sound concept to each guard after they arrive at either guard post. The problem is that after the sound concept is played the conversation stops and the next guard doesn't go anywhere.
Can sound concepts be used in conversations or can only conversation lines be used?

Concepts definitely can be used without causing such issues, I did so in the mission I just released yesterday. So I would try and figure out why that happens, although nothing much comes to mind off hand.

Make sure you only ever have one actor being used in each step.

I disagree with that, I use two actors in the same step sometimes for specific reasons, and it's not a problem if you know what you;re doing and understand how it works.

I've used multiple actors in each step before but it depended on what actions they were performing. In this case each step is one actor only.
I think my installation might be buggy because I moved the "play sound concept" line from the last used entry in the step to the second. The third and fourth steps are still being performed but step 2 never takes place. I can see that the conversation is still running because if I KO one of the other actors the remaining actors go back to their point of origins.
I have noticed in another conversation that one guard gets stuck if the conversation is stopped due to loud noises, and I can even shoot that guard from behind and he won't look for me. He reacts but just stands there, so maybe I need to reinstall Thief 2?
