Actually, I don't mind Masks on it's own. Too bad Casing pulls it down into the ditch.
Soulforge is in my T2 top five. Hope you enjoy it. Many players don't.

Last level...part way thru...I suspect > 1/2-way,but who knows...
Assembled the device (that took me down to 1 mine, and about 2 health(s) left...so I'm not an expert planner.
Attached it to the signal beacon
set 5 towers...although not 100% sure of the location of the exact towers I choose to set (uh-ohhhh):wot:
I like the level...a lot...but I'm exhausted!
(+) since the 1st tower I've had 1 health left, and no mines
I understand as the closing level, it has to be the hardest
As much as I like this level...I wish I was done...or at least closer to the end

Hi.
The proverbial 'Lil Help?', as we used to say when we lobbed a ball over the barrier in tennis.
Last level...just frustration...I would really like to finish it.
read 2 walkthroughs...and I remain lost & confused.
Done:
Guiding beacon
Set 5 towers
connected to signal slot b
... in that order by the way
.....................................................
Now begins endless(translation= > 1 hour and nothing accomplished) of just frustration.
1. DId I make a mistake of not going to the basement for each & every signal tower set...because Now I'll have to find-guess which of the 8 towers set?
2. I am in the basement of the one near the workshop....their are soooo many mech beasts there I will never be able to set to B that area...which means I can't complete level?
3. After being killed about 15 times in this workshop, its not like I can even see where to go/what to set in that large room...I see blinking red light switches everywhere, and have not seen any with an A /B setting? In the basement do the signal switches have a marking for A & B...or even a sound or clue you did it after you Do set it?
4. Assuming I can find & set said switch without being killed (99% sure I can't without invisibility which i don't' have...and by the way I'm playing on easy mode if that isn't already obvious)Am I going to have to go up a floor (or several floors?) and back down to another basement for each & every tower (assuming I can remember which one set?)
...or....can 1 basement are access all towers switches?
You can quote me on this....'ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH'
Humbly

Sorry that this mission is frustrating you Eric. If you have made the guiding beacon, all you have to do is reset the required amount of signal towers to the B slot. On expert you have to reset 7 out of existing 8. How many does it say in your objective? After that, you need to leave through the front doors, then the mission will end. You don't have to go to the basement for each one.
When you say the workshop, do you mean the exploratory inventing workshop or the turret production facility (with the assembly lines)?
Have you tried (
http://www.thief-thecircle.com/guides/keeperchapel/Soulforge2/) The Keepers' Chapel?
Hope this helps :)

Hah!
thank you.
I was finished & didn't even know it!...thus the frustration.
I thought (must have misunderstood the objectives)...I needed to Re-inter the basement under each tower, and throw 5 more switches, corresponding to the towers I has already set?
Is that a goal of a higher level of difficulty?
Cause I didn't.
I just left the cathedral...and I was done.
yeah me! (& you guys)
Onward to T2X

Done (downloaded...installed)
and I DID need that link to get it working, which it now is.
Played he 1st level even
Master Plan as it stands now:
1. T Gold...played...great
2. T2....played...great
3. T2X...current 'project'
4. After that T3
5. the, the DarkMod
...after that, probably will try some fan levels for the 1st time
But I might go to Thief IV: Master Edition
Yeah, I know its not supposed to be good, but Steam has it for $32.99...and then I found a steam key on eBay for $14.00; plus I read some reviews, and some of the negatives didn't like it for being like Dishonored (which I like) & others for being good but not worth the $$...which was obviated by this price.
One of the things that has me curious, but I won't see the answer till I get to Darkmod...is that Thief I & II seem purposely crippled in the awkward combat effectiveness, which I presumed was to discourage combat...but DOom 3 is great at combat physics, so I am mighty curious how the DOom 3 based Darkmod will be in that arena.
MAn do I LOVE this series of games!

Some people think Thief is actually secretly really good. Probably if you play it as its own game. I haven't played it though.
How sensitive are the guards in Thief Gold? I installed TFix and some of the guards seem extremely sensitive. Was crouched and holding shift (speed toggle) in the mines while the light gem was completely dark, a Hammerite on some stairs who I couldn't even see was alerted and came looking for me and saw me from about 10 feet away. I haven't really seen any consistency between whether a guard will be alerted if I walk (run + hold shift), crouch and shift, or just go full walk + shift.
And are there mods that change the look of the game to be more like Thief 2? There's something unsettling to me about the really old limited colors in games like this and the first System Shock.
