11/16
Finally finished T2X...what a worthy effort.
Although the last level was too short, and too easy (although I appreciated the obvious homage to the ending level of Thief I), and the preceding penultimate 'Cure' was not my cup of tea (a personal matter of aesthetics...I don't like the dull, drab appearance of dark graveyard levels, and the 3rd-from-the-end 'Grand Hotel' was mere middling...
...despite all that the level that came before (the brothel level) was just over-the-top superb, as were many levels that preceded that one, and the plot, voice-acting, art direction, cut scenes, menus, title screen...all was so special that I would heartily recommend this multi-level fan(-atic) effort.
I think I'll end this string of self-indulgent world-of-me running commentary as to my introduction to Thief via I,II, & T2X.
I much appreciate the help & kind words of all you have responded to my inquiries.
I will periodically check this thread for replies, and if the reply requires a response I certainly will.
I will start up Thief III shortly...but I'm going to interspace some other games now...just to keep my brain clear. :-)
God bless.

Thank you very much for your mission feedback play-by-play, Eric. It has been a highly interesting read. It has made me want to replay T2X, especially when the updated texture mod comes around. Please give us some more reviews if and when you play fan missions. :D

I'm completely stumped by Blackmail in Thief II. No idea how to get into the Sheriff's room. I have a Balcony Key, but no idea where the balcony is.

I finally found an Estate Key on a party guest after knocking out just about every guard on the first and second floors.

You do know you don't have to knock out people to steal their keys and purses, right?

...but people are easier to search when they're Unconscious :ebil:

Yeah, I was tired of sneaking past them over and over again or checking the same guards who weren't carrying anything because I can't tell them apart, so I just used the process of elimination.
Huhuhuhuhuhuhuh.
I got into Deadly Shadows easily enough, but I had a hard time getting into Thief 2. On my 3rd time now playing on Expert (the furthest I've gone is Kidnap), and I've gotten better at exploring. I like Life of the Party, but I don't know about best of all time. The Angelwatch section is too corridor-heavy.
