Playing through Thief 2 for the first time, and i'm having a WTF moment - by Lovecraftian

Almost through playing the T2 demo. Quite interesting. Though most of the layout remains the same, there are some differences that I would have liked to have seen included the 'Life of the Party' mission that ended up being in the released version of T2. I did notice a few other differences; the controls didn't offer the 'sneak' option, a lot of the AI looked darn near the same as the AI in TDP (meaning pretty angular and not as defined as in TMA - same goes for some of the graphics), and you could gorge yourself on food but it didn't affect your life force in the least (same as in TDP). Otherwise, aside from a slightly different layout (a few ledges missing here and there, a small extra section added here or there (that wasn't included in the TMA game), the demo did provide me with more exploring and made the level more interesting imo. After having played that particular mission in TMA about a gazillion times, the overall differences were quite refreshing.
I did notice that the guards weren't as alert as I would have expected them to be on the 'Hard' difficulty, but that really didn't detract too much from my enjoyment. I don't know how long before the finished TMA was released that the demo became available, but it's obvious that they made a few changes to TMA after the demo was released.
I was glad they included the argument between the four guards (two each on opposite towers) about their respective lord and lady in TMA. That dialogue always makes me laugh out loud!
Thanks for the heads-up on the T2 demo, Martek. :thumb:

The demo does effectivly feel like a T1 look at T2, but to be fair it is an Alpha-demo. The bit that I felt would have been better to keep in the mission was the second route to Angelwatch, but mainly only because you can't ghost through the appartment with the two women. Of course if it had been kept nearly the same it wouldn't have been as fun to compare the two methinks.

I ordered Deadly Shadows last night. Hope it's good, despite the reviews saying it sold out to the console market.
Trying to complete Soulforge now.....so frikkin confusing, and the golden boy is back....bah.
