No, it's not so much the fact sony got attacked, but its response to those attacks which just shows complete disregard for their own customer base without which their company couldn't exist. and that's ON TOP of a lot of flops in the past such as the rootkit drm fiasco, shittalking their competition while doing same stuff, etc.
EDIT: actually, my original statement was too harsh and, given I never even owned a playstation, is a bit unfounded. edited.

I dont get it. has Sony done something to deserve all of these attacks? I keep hearing that sentiment and I do nt see any real justification for it.
Not informing their customers for over a week that their personal information was stolen by hackers?
Volitions Advocate on 3/6/2011 at 23:13
They didn't hold that information back, once they knew for sure they let everyone know.
even so, What makes them more of a candidate for attack than any number of other corporations? These hackers certainly aren't giving any of the sony customers any justice. We're continually screwed out of our personal information and online gaming etc, just because they want to prove a point? Go hack Visa, erase my credit card debt. ffs.

Exactly, it's like the hackers are like "hey sony, we can hack your shit and you can't do anything about it muwahahahaha!" They aren't helping anyone but themselves.
On another note, there's so much damn traffic on the Store I keep getting an error message when I try to get on.

The thing is, apparently Sony has had lax security for ages and ages; their IT guys are overworked and underpaid and security holes are widespread. It's going to take a long time- months at the least- for Sony to get everything more secure, and in the mean time the stuff that's further down the to-do list is getting hacked.

So why exactly have you decided to buy PS3 now, dethtoll?
june gloom on 4/6/2011 at 09:12
'Cuz I wanted to.
Volitions Advocate on 4/6/2011 at 12:36
MGS4 is a good enough reason. (and all the cheap rare PSX games available on PSN)
Koki on 4/6/2011 at 13:12
I'm not asking why he bought PS3 at all, but why now, as in, when all this shit with PSN hits the fan.
