Not sure if anyone else got this, but I signed up to beta test on Eidos Montreal's website awhile back. Got this in my inbox this morning:

Greetings,
The Eidos Montreal playtest team is currently recruiting participants for its next playtest session. Try out one of our games currently in production before anyone else!
We are looking for players available from:
WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 12th 2012 FROM 9:00am TO 4:00pm
If you are available on those dates and playtests still interest you, please send us an email at [email]
Subject: PLAYTEST GALATEUS
Include: -Full name
-Email address
-Phone number
WARNING: Your email does not garantee a spot for those playtests.
We will then proceed with a short questionnaire over the phone to make sure you fit with the player profile required for this particular test.
Please keep in mind that playtests DO NOT constitute a job. If you are selected, you will be invited to test one game only.
Also take note that places are limited and that we will stop taking calls/emails once we reach the desired number of participants.
Looking foward to meeting you all!

First of all - Galateus? Could be some kind of code name, I suppose.
Second - I would do this in a heartbeat, except that I'm a good 16 hours driving time from Montreal.
Third - Anyone live near Montreal that would be interested in this? I could pass along your info through my email and see if it works. There's just no way logistically that I could do it.
I suppose this is a good sign for T4, unless EM is developing another game in secret.

It could be for the next DX:HR DLC, as well...Given the lack of any official THI4F info for years, and the odd, unwelcome behavior from EM, who knows what it's for.
"We will then proceed with a short questionnaire over the phone to make sure you fit with the player profile required for this particular test."
I am curious/fearful of what the qualifications are.

Actually they do a lot of playtest, but not for eidos games only but square enix games too. It could be thief 4 or another square enix game.

Tempted, but I too am a bit too far away, about 6 hours
I wonder how much they are paying the playtesters for this?

I'm also a good 16 hour drive from Montreal, but wish I had the time & money to participate. Really curious if this 'GALATEUS' is indeed some kind of code name for T4.
We can only hope, right?

Six hours, c'mon man that's nothing! I would absolutely do it if I only had a six hour drive. :ebil: Leave after work, take off one day, back for work the following day.
As far as being paid, I'm guessing their comment about "playtests do not constitute a job" indicates that no pay is involved.

Yeah, it just means it doesn't necessarily constitute a foot in the door for a position with EM.

Oddly enough I got the same email. Hmmmmm.

I almost don't want to admit it, but I live about 3 hours away. Unfortunately, I'd have to take the train/bus up on that day, and the best I could do is get to the place sometime after 1:00. I don't know if it's worth it. But the chance to take another blurry picture almost makes me consider it.
Does Galateus mean anything in french?
