It was like most games about 30 years ago. It was only in two dimensions and you could only move up or down or side to side. As every other game back then, the only challenge was that it got faster and faster.
The joystick controls a submarine. Air supply slowly runs out. You have to get to the surface to intake more air or you blow up. If you are totally full of air and go to the surface you'll also blow up. You have to joystick up and down to avoid hitting sharks and other meanies travelling across the screen. Your objective is picking up scuba divers that also scroll across the screen.
It wasn't a PC game, it was a platform game, though I can't remember which one.
Does anyone recall the name of this game? I'm hoping their is some classic PC version available for download.

Ha! I knew it was Seaquest, but every time I googled that name, it never showed the game, just the TV show and scuba gear.
So, is it downloadable somewhere, as well as the emulator?

You can also grab it on the absolutely fantastic Activision Anthology Remix Edition for the PC. I just got mine new on ebay for $7 including shipping.

A game where you control a submarine that runs and jumps and climbs ladders? I gotta see this!

Its online remake was some student's project: (

The remake is missing quite a few features though
