Well, I tried to re-install Deus Ex, but in the full installation option I always get stuck on a file and then the install program kicks me out saying that the source media may be bad. But I looked at the cd and it doesn't look bad at all. Did anyone have this problem? How'd you fix it?

I hope you've got a bit of room on your HD, if so do the following:
Copy the complete contents of the CD into a folder on your HD and install the game from there. If you're still getting the error message your CD is likely defective and you should return it to the store for a new one.
Copying to the HD has two benificial side effects: The game won't ask for the CD, and you can be fairly sure you won't have any corrupt map files etc. installed.

I don't think my cd is defective though. I've had this game for probably a year now, and I was pretty far into the game, before I deleted it from my hard drive. I wanted to play it again, and now I'm getting this message. I'm not sure if I got this message before, but I think I did. Just don't know how I fixed it, if I did encounter such a problem before. I'm trying to install the game on an AMD 1.4 Ghz machine. Is the game incompatible with that?
