God damn, I wish somebody was actually here to help me. :S
Nondescriptive thread title? Check. Unable to follow instructions? Check. Aggressive towards people who are trying to help? Check.
Not the best first impression there, CelineT. :(

Uh, where exactly was she aggressive?

I feel the part that I quoted comes off as passive-aggressive. After several people emailing and posting tips, it sounds like "Gee wizz, wish people here weren't so useless in solving my problems."

let it go,guys-most newbies need some time to learn the basics of forum rules/etiquette.no need to rub it in.
its not like he/she was swearing or something.

I like your attitude, voodoo47. Alright. :)

Perhaps a scattering of emoticons would have helped. I had to google :S which seems to have a couple of meanings. And I have no idea what ;_; is.

Weeping. That one is read vertically, with the semicolons as eyes (the upper dots), with tears trailing down the cheeks (the commas below the dots). All too dramatic.

Actually, it was at myself. I've been given plenty of help, of course. It's just that I've been trying to fix this game for six hours, all to have it change nothing.
To the first person linking the stuff to me. I read the instructions and opened the file in the Thief folder, the extracted files just didn't have the .ini file. And when I opened it, it said it wasn't installed properly. I was super stressed because I couldn't get it to work at all.

I mean it as being worried. :S Wobbly mouth, I think it's for. It also means confused... But it's not that one I'm after.

It's not them. Clearly. How would you even interpret what I said as that?
I... meant physically in my house with me.
There's no blusing emote. :\
I'd already downloaded the patch, I was couldn't find the .ini file I think the instructions said I needed.
EDIT: And I read the read me. It said I could use a hex editor. I didn't understand what that was.

Thanks all. I'll review the stuff you put up here, and see if I can get it to work.
I think it'd be best if I stuck to modern games... *deep sigh*

I hope you get it working, CelineT. But just so you know, there's a forum rule about multiple posts in succession - and you just broke it 5 times. ;) Preferable to edit the first post to add additional responses if no one has replied. Good luck with DDFix, it has made Thief a pleasure to run on modern PCs.
